History of Belize Tour
Duration: 7 days/6 nightsCost: Standard $712.00 Premiere $965.00- $1,055.00
Explore the deep Mayan culture of Belize with this 7-day history funfest. You won’t want to miss any of these sites: a River Tour to the Lamani Maya, for starters, a guided tour of the longest occupied area of the Mayan world, which flourished in Belize from the 4th to the 9th century.
Next, a tour of Belize City--the bustling former capital with a population of 70,000--the gateway to Belize’s historical points, like the Old Belize History Museum, followed by a scenic trip to San Ignacio; the Succotz Village and Xunantunich: a Mayan site and an imposing Acropolis, overlooking Guatemala. After off-roading through the splendor of Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve, we’ll stop for wine tasting at Francis Ford Coppola’s world renowned Blancaneaux Lodge.
At the next Mayan site: Caracol, you’ll experience the tallest man-made structure in Belize. We’ll take you through the farming belt of Belize, stopping at St. Herman’s Cave and Inland Blue Hole for nature walks and cave explorations on the way toward Dangriga, the “Cultural Capital of Belize”. Considered the most colorful, beautiful and artistically unique, Dangriga is the home of some of Belize’s finest painters and best folk bands.
Finish off this exciting week with a relaxing day at the beach in Placencia Village, or shop for native items to add to your personal history collection.
